Digium President and Creator of Asterisk to Keynote INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2005; Mark Spencer of Digium, Inc., to Address Thousands at VoIP Conference at Los Angeles Convention Center

NORWALK, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 28, 2005 -- Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC(R)) announces today that Mark Spencer, President of Digium Inc., creator of Asterisk and pioneer of open source telephony, has agreed to deliver a keynote address at its INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2005, on October 24-27, 2005 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Mr. Spencer's address, which is open to all registered attendees, will take place Thursday, October 27th, at 11:45 a.m. PST. Registration for the conference is now open at http://www.itexpo.com.

The INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO, held since 1999, is the world's largest and best-attended VoIP trade show. Last February, TMC's INTERNET TELEPHONY attracted over 6,200 buyers and sellers of IP Telephony products and services. For this upcoming October show, TMC projects total attendance to exceed 7,500.

Mark Spencer founded Linux Support Services in 1999 while still a Computer Engineering student at Auburn University. When faced with the high cost of buying a PBX, Mark simply used his Linux PC and knowledge of C code to create his own. This was the beginning of the phenomenon known as Asterisk, the open source PBX, and in 2002 led Mr. Spencer to shift his business focus from Linux consulting to products and services based on Asterisk. Linux Support Services is now known as Digium, and is revolutionizing the telecom market with telephony and VoIP solutions based on open source software.

"We are dedicated to furthering open source development in the telephony industry to offer companies a more flexible, robust and cost-effective alternative to more expensive, proprietary PBXs," states Mr. Spencer. "As one of the largest tradeshows in the VoIP industry, INTERNET TELEPHONY provides Digium with an excellent forum to showcase the latest developments in the Asterisk community to thousands of other service providers, enterprises, government buyers, resellers and developers attending the show.

"Asterisk is a true example of how technology is most effective when it is given back to the community," continues Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Conference Chairman for INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO. "Digium's open source technology will offer our INTERNET TELEPHONY attendees a new insight into the telecom industry of tomorrow."

Registration for the conference and trade show is now open: http://www.itexpo.com. Vendors interested in exhibiting or sponsoring should contact Dave Rodriguez immediately at 1-203-852-6800, ext. 146 or e-mail [email protected].
