Integration Announcements From Dreamforce

By Tracey E. Schelmetic, Editorial Director, Customer Interaction Solutions

Two announcements have come out of Salesforce.com's Dreamforce event this morning, and we expect more to come. The first is an integration with Before the Call, a new company based in Sunnyvale, California, and salesforce.com. The second is salesforce.com's partnership with Chicago-based InStranet, Inc., a provider of multichannel knowledge applications.

Before the Call

Before the Call and salesforce.com today announced the availability of Before the Call for AppExchange. Built on salesforce.com's Appforce on-demand platform, BTC for Appforce is currently available, and will be generally available for AppExchange at the same time as the Salesforce Winter ’06 release. Before the Call's product is essentially an on-demand sales intelligence solution sold to salesforce.com's enterprise business-to-business installed customer base. The application provides external market information to a sales representative so that he or she can move faster to qualify a lead, saving time in the sales process. Before the Call for AppExchange is one of the 70 launch applications that are available through AppExchange, salesforce.com’s new on-demand application sharing service.

Using AppExchange, salesforce.com customers have access to new applications designed to bring the benefits of salesforce.com to their overall business, allowing them to manage and share all of their company information on-demand. Companies can add new apps to their existing Salesforce deployments, extending their success and making the full functionality of the salesforce.com customer and partner community available with just a click.

“Before the Call adds tremendous value for salesforce.com customers by delivering not just sales intelligence information and lead ranking by relevancy, but also by identifying the company’s internal marketing collateral appropriate for each sales call,” said Adam Gross, Director of Product Marketing, salesforce.com.  “We are supporters of this product because it enhances the Appforce platform and allows our customers to focus on converting leads into sales.”

The introductory price for Before the Call for AppExchange is $50 per user per month. In addition to a direct sales team, Before the Call has created a sales group that is dedicated to educating salesforce.com customers on how Before the Call for AppExchange can meet their unique needs.

InStranet

Second, InStranet, Inc., a provider of multichannel knowledge applications, and salesforce.com announced the availability of InStranet for AppExchange. Also built on salesforce.com's Appforce on-demand platform, InStranet for AppExchange is available immediately for preview in the AppExchange, and will be generally available at the same time as the Salesforce Winter ’06 release. InStranet for AppExchange was created to integrate with Salesforce to provide workers with knowledge on-demand, such as sales and servicing information, to help increase productivity across all customer touch points (i.e., contact centers and Web self-help). Like Before the Call, InStranet for AppExchange is one of the 70 launch applications that are available through AppExchange, salesforce.com’s new on-demand application sharing service.
