MySpace.com, the leading lifestyle portal with more than 35 million members, is celebrating two years of success with the MySpace Two Year Anniversary Concert on Saturday, October 29, 2005. The sold-out event, hosted by company President Tom Anderson, will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Dodger Stadium and will feature musical performances by popular MySpace artists including Interscope's Dashboard Confessional, The All-American Rejects, as well as Warner Music acts Jimmy Eat World's Jim Adkins and Fort Minor featuring Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Up and coming MySpace favorites Hollywood Undead will debut a video at the event and New Years Day will perform. MySpace users were invited to purchase tickets to the now sold-out event at Vans(TM) retail stores in Southern California. All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
"This event celebrates the MySpace generation and its culture. MySpace has become more than just a website -- it's become a lifestyle for our users," said Chris DeWolfe, CEO of MySpace. "We're providing a venue for our loyal members to enjoy a great evening of music and fun with other MySpace friends."
In celebration of Halloween weekend, magician and illusionist Criss Angel (www.myspace.com/crissangel), star of A&E's hit television series "Mindfreak," will take the stage for one of his extraordinary performances. Also adding to the festivities, The Freak Show -- a circus troop featuring old-school sword swallowing, contortionists and fire-eaters -- will dazzle the crowd with a round-up of bizarre and dazzling freaky talents. The night will close with MySpace's Tom Anderson hosting an event-wide costume contest.
"This event is not just a celebration for MySpace and its users, it's about helping the community," said Tom Anderson, president of MySpace. "It's so awesome that artists as big as Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional and The All-American Rejects are playing for free to help raise money for Katrina Relief. Everyone wins here."
Joining the MySpace party is leading youth lifestyle brand, Vans(TM) which will be on-site as the title sponsor. Vans will provide Custom Building Stations, allowing attendees to design their own Vans sneakers, host autograph sessions with the Vans BMX and skate team members, and feature live art installations and Vans giveaways throughout the event.
Throughout the event FUEL TV, the destination for action sports television, will be on-site shooting an exclusive MySpace anniversary special, including behind the scenes footage and interviews that will air on Sunday, November 6 at 8:00 p.m. For more information, visit www.fuel.tv.
