I.D. Systems Receives $900,000 Order for RFID-based Wireless Industrial Vehicle Management System

HACKENSACK, N.J., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- I.D. Systems, Inc. , a leading provider of RFID-based wireless asset tracking and management solutions, today announced that it has received an order from a major North American aluminum manufacturer to deploy I.D. Systems' Wireless Asset Net(TM) industrial vehicle management system on a fleet of material handling equipment at an aluminum production facility in New York. The turnkey deployment, structured as a per-vehicle-per-month lease, is valued at approximately $900,000 over a 60-month term.

"We are very excited to move forward with this Fortune 100 customer - an early adopter of our technology with previous system implementations at two other facilities," said Rick Muntz, I.D. Systems' executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer satisfaction. "We greatly appreciate their commitment to our latest technology and look forward to helping them capitalize on the many recent advances in wireless control and management of material handling equipment. We believe the Wireless Asset Net is an excellent fit with this aluminum manufacturer's focus on improving worker safety and, at the same time, reducing costs related to material handling operations."
About The Wireless Asset Net(TM)
The Wireless Asset Net consists of intelligent wireless devices installed on powered industrial vehicles, such as forklifts, a patented communication infrastructure, and client-server software for access control, utilization analysis, real-time location tracking, and many other functions. The system is designed to improve workplace safety and security by restricting vehicle access to trained, authorized operators and providing electronic safety inspection checklists. The system is designed to reduce maintenance costs by automatically uploading vehicle data, reporting vehicle problems in real time, scheduling maintenance according to actual vehicle usage rather than on a calendar basis, and helping plant management determine the optimal economic time to replace equipment. The system is also designed to help improve productivity by ensuring equipment is in the proper place at the right time and by providing management with unique reports on vehicle utilization.
