UAE University recruiting top quality staff via high-tech website

(Gulf News)The UAE University has launched a high-tech eRecruitment system in its quest to employ top quality staff from around the world.

The new human resource system has been developed with the assistance of PeopleAdin, an international applicant tracking system for higher education.

More than 170 leading universities, colleges and university medical centres have been using the system worldwide.

Dr Abdullah Khanbashi, Provost of UAE University, told a press conference the new system had gone online and applicants must apply through it for any position. It can be accessed by logging on to www.uaeujobs.com

He said paper applications would only be accepted from those applying for a job on a daily wage basis, such as labourers, security personnel or groundskeepers.

"Our new eRecruitment system is based upon the most modern and user-friendly technology available," he said, adding the university worked closely with PeopleAdin to offer exceptional service to faculty and staff, potential employees and students.

"As an applicant, you will apply online and then will experience a professional and transparent selection process," he said.

The system also offers different tasks that an applicant has to perform. The applicant will also receive a confirmation number, assuring them their application has been received. Correspondence can then be traced through this confirmation number.

"The university's human resource teams at every level are committed to the provision of quality service for each applicant, understanding that this service will contribute to our students receiving the very best education possible," he said.

300 templates for faculty positions

The deans of different colleges of the university will be able to complete and submit requisitions for positions through more than 300 templates loaded into the system for all staff and faculty positions.

They will also be able to track the progress on the requisition.

The application received online will be supervised and reviewed by members of a selection committee via electronic access at work or at home.
