Wallis Oil Co. Takes on PowerLinx for Fuel Tanker Truck Fleet

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- Nov. 3, 2005 -- PowerLinx, Inc. (OTCBB:PWLX), today announced that its DC power line rear vision system, Zone Defense(TM), has proven effective in early deployment on the Wallis Oil Co. fleet.

Larry Demidow, Wallis Oil Co. Director of Safety, stated: "We at Wallis Companies are highly safety-oriented. We looked at other backing camera systems and found Zone Defense(TM) better suited for our application. Due to the fact that it is "cable-less," we are able to switch tractors with trailers without the driver worrying about double hookup of cords. The camera system was extremely easy to mount. Our drivers like the system due to the fact that it's like having another pair of eyes behind them. Our transport drivers deliver to four to five gas stations per work shift. Zone Defense(TM) ensures the safety of our drivers and our customers during the delivery of our petroleum products to our customers' store sites. The cameras have paid for themselves by preventing all backing up accidents. All our drivers agreed it was the way to go."

The Zone Defense(TM) system for trucks eliminates video cables, instead using the vehicle's DC wiring to transmit video images of the vehicle's "blind spots" to an LCD monitor screen in the cab. The rear and side vision systems purchased by Wallis Oil Co. were installed at the Wallis fleet headquarters in Cuba, Missouri.

According to James Markus, PowerLinx VP / GM of Transportation Technology, "The Zone Defense system with PLC technology enables our customers to interchange equipment without an additional wire or cable connection. Our camera positioned at the back of the trailer gives the driver a true rear view without having to rely solely on side view mirrors. We are pleased that Wallis Oil has made the Powerlinx Zone Defense system its pick for accident avoidance for its entire tanker fleet."
