First Rate Upgrades Disaster Recovery to World Class Services

ARLINGTON, Texas, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- First Rate has raised the bar once more by teaming up with MCI for their disaster recovery system. The employee-owned company offers the most dynamic web-based performance analysis tools and reporting solutions available for domestic investment portfolios. Keeping on top of the industry standard, First Rate chose MCI for their distinct brand, stability in the market, strength in telecommunications and affiliation with Digex.
This relationship with MCI allows First Rate the benefit of focusing on their core business which include products that calculate, verify, analyze and report investment results; in addition to First Rate's technology operations, service bureau work (back office support), and consulting services. All the while, MCI is working diligently 24/7 to secure the complete line of business communications, systems and personnel collocation needs.
First Rate's original disaster recovery location was previously located in Arlington, Texas. In keeping recovery and security of data in high priority, it was determined that the center be moved at least 40 miles from the main site. "The distance from First Rate's primary and secondary data centers exceeds disaster recovery standards for the recommended distance in Texas," comments Robert Brunskill, First Rate's Certified Business Continuity Professional, CBCP. The new center, a world class isolated and protected system, is located in Richardson, Texas.
Jeff Kunkel, Managing Director of the Technology Operations division and a Certified Master Business Continuity Professional at First Rate, is thrilled with the move and realizes the importance of not only the need for the distance between their main site in Grand Prairie, but also the ability to provide business continuity to clients who have requested this service. "MCI has provided us with service level agreements that are in direct support of First Rate's ASP Disaster Recovery services. The move to MCI's world-class facility has not only provided assurance for business continuance to our clients, but also to First Rate. Truly, a WIN-WIN situation for all has been developed," states Kunkel.
On-site visits are always encouraged and First Rate would be happy to assist in visitations, please allow a two-week notice and contact Jeff Kunkel at 972-660-1550 extension 135 for more information.
