The network -- which enables APTN to move its bandwidth as the news moves -- now serves Rome, London, Paris, Brussels, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and, most recently, Madrid. Using Genesis Networks' Portable Bandwidth Services and proprietary booking and scheduling system, APTN can send video feeds and news footage from news bureaus to its master control studio in London at a huge savings by moving its bandwidth anywhere on the network as needs change. APTN Connect, launched in early 2004, allows video delivery using 6.5 Mb, expandable to 8 Mb, with bursts up to 34 Mb if required.
