VA VISN 2 selects Healthprolink Quantifi for pharmacy clinical documentation

Bellevue, WA3/22/2005 Healthprolink announced today that the VA Health System VISN 2 has purchased Healthprolink Quantifi for use at all 5 of its Upstate New York medical center facilities. This sole source agreement will allow VA VISN 2 and Healthprolink to embark on a collaborative effort to document and measure the performance of VA VISN 2 pharmacists through quantifying the impact of their clinical activities.

With an intuitive web and handheld interface, Healthprolink Quantifi will provide a uniform and systematic way for VA VISN 2 pharmacists to document their activities, making it easier to compare and benchmark VA VISN 2 medical center facilities, and lead to improvements in overall clinical practice.

Using Quantifis advanced analysis and reporting tools, VA VISN 2 pharmacy managers will have insight into the work their staff is doing on a daily basis, allowing them to quantify the real value each pharmacist is adding to the hospital's operations. In the face of budget constraints, pharmacy managers will be able to use this data to justify new clinical positions and retain existing ones. VA VISN 2 medical center facilities will also use the advanced clinical follow-up functions of Quantifi to allow pharmacists to streamline their ongoing follow-up and analysis of clinical activities, which will result in improvements to overall patient care.

VA VISN 2 medical center facilities will also use Healthprolinks exclusive Census Plugin technology, which links patient information directly from the VAs internal IT systems to Healthprolink, improving the speed and accuracy of patient lookup and documentation while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and JCAHO security requirements.

VA VISN 2 hospitals will be the first in the VA group to use this technology and it is expected that their best practices will become a model for other VA hospital groups to follow.
