Vocel Educational Content Pushed to Wireless Subscribers Using M7 Networks' Application 'Wake-Up' Solution
SAN DIEGO, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- M7 Networks Inc. (http://www.m7networks.com/), a leading trusted partner and enabler of advanced wireless services, announced today that VOCEL, a leading provider of educational content to mobile subscribers, is using the company's Application "Wake-Up" solution to offer Princeton Review SAT study aids over mobile phones.
"VOCEL prides itself on relationships with industry leaders. M7 Networks' technology and services have allowed for some of the most inventive application services to come to market, beginning with our wireless study aid," said Carl Washburn, CEO of VOCEL.
The Princeton Review test preparation is available today. Subscribers download the application and, with Application "Wake-Up" technology, are able to begin receiving multiple-choice practice questions via their mobile phones, similar to those found on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
"We are pleased to partner with VOCEL to enable the delivery of wireless study aids to students," said William Erickson, CEO and president of M7 Networks. "Our Application 'Wake-Up' solution enables 'push' technology to applications on mobile devices in a secure environment. The mobile version of the Princeton Review SAT study aid is a great use of Application 'Wake Up' to ensure content is pushed to mobile users who require it and when they want it."
"We are thrilled to be the first educational services company to utilize M7 Networks' Application 'Wake Up' technology to deliver our content to students," said Andy Lutz, vice president of development for Princeton Review. "Today's cell phone is clearly the ubiquitous hand-held device of choice, offering functions that go well beyond those of a traditional phone. Why not also allow students to learn on the fly using that device?"
"It's unbelievably easy to use and it certainly beats carrying around a heavy book," said James Moberly, a student from San Diego who signed on for the service. "Since I'm always rushing around from place to place, it's so convenient for me to just study on my phone when I have a moment to catch my breath."
M7 Networks' Application "Wake-Up" solution provides mobile publishers with easy-to-use interfaces to access the Wake Up functionality. M7's solution also provides a robust and secure environment that offers many advantages to the publisher and mobile carrier including security, subscriber management services and a strong, scaleable infrastructure.
