Technology That Gives Airport Baggage Screeners ''Second Pair of Eyes'' Introduced at Homeland & Global Security Summit

--(Business Wire)--

Recent incident where baggage screener failed to detect butcher knife in handbag illustrates need for this state-of-the-art software -0- *T WHAT: Revolutionary threat identification technology to be demonstrated during 2005 Homeland & Global Security Summit WHEN: Exhibit booth open March 2, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., March 3, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. WHERE: Booth # 216, Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC 20001 BACKGROUND: Herndon, Virginia based Guardian Technologies International's (OTCBB:GDTI) Pinpoint is an automated detection application that can be used with baggage, cargo and body scanners to detect explosives, guns, knives and thousands of other types of threat items. When a threat item is detected, it frames the item with a colored box and places an alert on the screen identifying it in bold, red letters. The system aids novice or inattentive baggage screeners in identifying threat items and, more importantly, detects items like C4 explosives and other threat items that are nearly impossible for even the most well trained screeners to detect using existing baggage screening images. Guardian's PinPoint system recently garnered the award for "Innovation Technology for Non-Intrusive Explosive/Threat Detection" during the Homeland Security and Safety Conference in Moscow.
