Smart Search System Increases Online Sales For EasyAV
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- July 28, 2005 --
ActivePoint's TX5(TM) Discovery Engine turns 'window shoppers' into buyers
ActivePoint (www.activepoint.com), the natural language, contextual search and guidance engine that emulates the human thought process, announced that 80 percent of online visitors to EasyAV that use its contextual search window for sales help are then making a purchase.
EasyAV is a full-service supplier of audio visual equipment from well known market leaders such as Panasonic, Sony, Epson and Toshiba. The company provides on-site installation, training and demonstrations for all products offered in its portfolio.
In early 2005, EasyAV installed ActivePoint's TX5(TM) Discovery Engine on its home page to assist visitors in obtaining exactly what they want quickly, by using full sentence search terminology. The technology enables customers to search within specific price ranges and it has the intuitiveness to identify the most similar product or service to what the customer has asked for. As a result, EasyAV is generating increased revenues and sales leads for the services side of the business, called Display IT.
"By having the contextual system on our site, visitors can get straight through to the product information they want and we have seen sales increase significantly," said Paul Farrow, Operations Director of EasyAV and Display IT. "If visitors use the smart search function we are then far more likely to close the deal. ActivePoint's TX5 system gives our site the personal touch our customers are seeking and provides the buyer with an informal way to discuss specific needs. We also get to capture the search and this helps us with our business plans and for follow-up services," Farrow added.
To enable natural language search, ActivePoint cataloged EasyAV's website populating the TX5 search engine. The ActivePoint system is a server-side application designed with a flexible, object-oriented architecture for seamless integration with the customer's existing databases, web servers, and other applications on the website. The system requires no programming and is easily integrated into existing sites, which speeds the installation of the hosted service.
"Many people have a question, just before they check-out of a site, such as 'when will the product be shipped?,' and they do not have the option of making a phone call due to time or connection conflicts. The TX5 System is like having a built-in shopkeeper on your website with intimate knowledge of the product line to help the customer make up their mind and ultimately decide to buy," said Moshe Ofer, CEO of ActivePoint.
"If you don't give a customer the opportunity to communicate and be responded to effectively, they will be less interested in placing an order, and will leave your site," added Ofer.
