Air Broadband's PiMAX(TM) ACR Now Equipped with AAA Diameter Client
SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- July 14, 2005 -- Air Broadband Communications, Inc. announced Diameter client feature in their PiMAX ACR, an IP mobile access router for WiMAX.
Air Broadband has introduced Access Control Router for WiMAX market on last May at Network+Interop 2005 conference held in Las Vegas. "WiMAX is the next generation broadband wireless and standard technology, and its main AAA platform will be Diameter based instead of RADIUS," says Kenneth Kang, president of Air Broadband. "We've successfully tested our Diameter client embedded in our PiMAX ACR with open Diameter server product."
Air Broadband's PiMAX(TM) ACR is the first of its kind that supports WiBro, mobile WiMAX like service to be launched early next year in Korea, and plan to support mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e) standard later this year. The key features of PiMAX(TM) include IP mobility, multi-vendor antenna (RAS-Radio Access Station) compatibility, wide scalability and per flow/user QoS.
