Amazon.com Selects Nine Systems to Deliver 10th Anniversary Concert Celebration with Bob Dylan and Norah Jones July 16

Streaming Projects also Included Recently Completed Video Auditions for Harry Potter Kids Review Panel

San Diego (July 12, 2005) – Amazon.com has selected Nine Systems (www.ninesystems.com) to provide customized content management and scalable delivery of the company’s 10th Anniversary Concert with Bob Dylan and Norah Jones.

Separately Amazon selected Nine Systems to facilitate a recently completed video audition for the soon-to-be-released “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” that was used to select children for its Harry Potter Kids Review Panel.

Both of these high-profile projects for Amazon are supported by Nine Systems’ rich media management tools, aggregated 'Network of Networks' content delivery platform, and customized production solutions.

· For Amazon’s 10th Anniversary Concert, Nine Systems will encode, upload and stream footage of the July 16 event from Benaroya Hall in Seattle so fans can listen and view video of the three-hour production live from the Amazon welcome page (www.amazon.com) and for the following 24 hours.

· For the Harry Potter Kids Review Panel, Nine Systems developed a video upload tool for Amazon.com that parents used to register and upload a video essay from their children explaining why they consider themselves to be Harry Potter experts. The videos by the children chosen for the panel are now viewable on Amazon.com, and panel members will also participate in media interviews about the sixth book in the Harry Potter series leading up to and following its July 16 release.

According to Chris Bruzzo, Amazon.com director, strategic communications, content and initiatives, “Our 10th anniversary event is a high-profile customer experience for us this year and we wanted more than a content delivery network, we wanted a team that is just as passionate as we are about delivering the best possible customer experience. We reviewed our options and chose Nine Systems for their extensive customer service and ability to deliver a solution that can scale to meet expected customer demand.”

Bruzzo added that the Harry Potter Kids Review Panel is another example of how Nine Systems met their requirements, providing a highly customized solution. “We laid out the challenge and Nine Systems came back to us with a tool that made it easy for parents to upload their kids’ Harry Potter videos. They’ve been a great partner.”

Troy Snyder, president and CEO of Nine Systems said, “When Amazon came to us with an assortment of projects, we were ready to deliver much more than just servers and bandwidth. We provide unique value and, as our collaboration shows, are able to develop and deliver customized, scalable solutions quickly."
