Noted 'Rule of Five' Chemist Dr. Christopher Lipinski to Speak at 3rd International Microwaves in Chemistry Conference


MATTHEWS, N.C. --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 10, 2005 -- The 3rd International Microwaves in Chemistry Conference is pleased to announce that Christopher A. Lipinski, PhD, famous for developing the "Rule of Five" which helps determine a drug candidate's potential for good absorption based on its molecular structure, will deliver the Keynote Presentation at this year's conference to be held March 3rd - 6th at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.



Dr. Lipinski retired in June 2002 from Pfizer Global Research and Development, Groton Laboratories where he held the position of Senior Research Fellow in the Exploratory Medicinal Sciences Department. He is the winner of the 2005 E.B. Hershberg Award for Important Discoveries in Medicinally Active Substances and the 2004 ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry Award.

As the definitive symposium on microwave chemistry, the International Microwaves in Chemistry Conference brings together chemists from around the world to discuss new developments, methods and technologies in the rapidly evolving field of microwave chemistry, including new applications and novel chemistries. The 2005 conference features three tracks: Medicinal Chemistry, Biosciences and Emerging Technologies. A workshop on fundamental microwave chemistry theory will also be offered.
