``Zoom'' Shopping a First at Ontario Convention Center
ONTARIO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 8, 2005 -- Tired of the malls? Try "zoom" shopping at the Ontario Convention Center, where two high-end self-service retail stores providing travel items and gifts are expected to be installed by the end of this month.
"Ontario Convention Center is the first convention center in the Western United States to offer this type of service," said Bob Brown, executive director and general manager of OCVB. "Zoom systems are a great complement to our newly developed cyber cafe business center. They will provide additional value to clients, guests, attendees and the community that people will not find in other facilities in the region."
Zoom Systems' automated retail stores feature iPods, headphones, computer supplies, chocolate, skincare products and DVDs from upscale manufacturers such as Sony, Godiva Chocolatier, Apple, Bose, Nintendo, Terra Nova and others.
Ontario Convention Center will introduce zoom Travel and zoom Gifts kiosks in late December. zoom Travel will sell traveler-related items, including digital music players, headphones and laptop kits, adapters and chargers; zoom Gifts will vend Godiva chocolates, decorative CDs, mini books, audio best-sellers and other premier gifts.
"Zoom Systems is growing rapidly and expects to expand its service area to other convention centers soon," said Jeffrey Hytoff, regional location manager of Zoom Systems. "In September, we aimed to have 100 new stores by the end of 2005; we have already installed 104."
Zoom Systems currently has machines conveniently installed in airports, hotels, malls, universities and hospitals in California, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
