Start-Up Cellufun Targets Emerging Multi-Player Mobile Gaming Market

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 16, 2005 -- Company Completes Series A Funding; Prepares for September Launch

Cellufun, LLC today announced the successful closing of its Series A financing, led by Vaux Les Ventures. The mobile gaming company will use the proceeds to accelerate the development and launch of its multi-player gaming portal, cellufun.com.

"The mobile game market is undergoing explosive growth," explained Miles Spencer, Managing Partner at Vaux Les Ventures and host of the popular PBS television show on business development, Money Hunt. "Our investors are excited about the opportunity to participate in a clearly differentiated player at an early stage of its growth." Mr. Spencer will join the Board of Directors of Cellufun and play an active role in its business development.

Unlike existing offerings, Cellufun will deliver real-time, multi-player games that can be played on existing and next-generation mobile phones. "We are focusing on multi-player games that encourage collaborative play with team members taking on different roles," says Steve Dacek, Cellufun's Managing Director. "Most mobile games are ports from existing console titles. That plays to the weakness of the handset's limited resources, while ignoring the obvious - the cell phone is all about interacting with others."

Cellufun's community-based, mobile gaming portal will offer games for FREE, with multi-player access requiring a subscription. The games are available for a broad range of web-enabled mobile phones and are carrier-independent so subscribers can interact with each other across an array of cellular networks.

"Our games are designed to deliver a truly interactive multi-player experience for the mobile phone market," explained Cary Torkelson, Cellufun's Chief Technology Officer. "Beyond the games, our portal will create an online community for supporting cross-carrier games, forums, cliques, role-based play, in-game chat, team challenges and tournaments."

Cellufun plans to launch the beta version of The Battle for Orion's Belt in August, the first of several multi-player games that will be available at cellufun.com.
