Diskology Adds Write Blocking to Forensic Version of Portable Hard Disk Duplicator; Popular Disk Jockey Now Available with Write Blocking Features in ''Forensic Kit''

LINCOLN, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 4, 2005 -- Diskology, Inc. announced a new version of their award-winning Disk Jockey portable hard disk duplicator today. The new model includes a write blocking feature essential for computer forensic examinations. The new unit is available as part of a "Forensic Kit" which will also include a serial-ATA (SATA) adapter as well as longer cables for connecting to drives.

"This is a huge step for us," said Diskology CEO Tony Overbay. "When we began selling the Disk Jockey we primarily focused on the IT market. The fast-growing forensic market literally found us based on our price point and feature set. We were missing one piece, however, the ability to block writes to a suspect's hard drive after a copy. They told us what they wanted, and we did it."

The Disk Jockey is a Swiss Army Knife of a product. It can be used on a Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh computer or as a stand-alone device. The Disk Jockey mounts IDE hard disk drives via USB 2.0 or Firewire (IEEE 1394) as well as mirrors, spans, copies, compares, tests and erases hard disk drives using either a 1-pass or a 3-pass erase per the National Security Administration (NSA) guidelines.

The Disk Jockey has been called "a dream come true for any PC hobbyist or technician" -- CPU, Oct. 04, and has been deemed "a worthy addition to the IT professional's toolbox" -- Macworld, December 04. The product also won the Editor's Choice award from MacAddict magazine (April 05), where it was called "geekily cool and useful."

The Disk Jockey "Forensic Kit" retails for $429 and includes the write-blocking Disk Jockey, SATA adapter and extended 2.5" and 3.5" cables. The standard Disk Jockey sans write blocking is available for $349. More information on the Disk Jockey or on Diskology, Inc., can be found at www.diskology.com.

Diskology, Inc. with headquarters in Lincoln, California, is a manufacturer of hardware-based hard disk copy and diagnostic tools. Diskology's product lineup includes the Disk Jockey(TM), as well as forensic write blocking bridge boards and enclosures.
