Medical Messaging.net Now Offers the Convenience of CyraCom Interpretation Service for Health Care Providers in 13 States

TUCSON, Ariz., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Patients of more than 2,000 physicians and health care providers in 13 states can now reach over-the-phone interpreters around the clock to better serve their patients.
The interpreters, who speak over 150 languages, are available to Medical Messaging.net customers through CyraCom International, the country's largest health care language services company. Medical Messaging.net, based in Rome, Ga., serves hospitals, physician practices, home health agencies and other providers.
CyraCom allows its clients' health care professionals quick access via telephone to medically-trained interpreters, whether they are calling from hospital exam rooms or are away from the office. In an average of 20 seconds, language assistance is available.
"Seconds count," said Michael D. Greenbaum, CEO of CyraCom. "Whether it's an urgent care situation or simply because of the usual time pressures of medical treatment, being fast helps create better patient care." Greenbaum noted 135 languages were used in 2004 in its hospitals nationwide.
"Reality today," said Van Willis, COO of Medical Messaging.net, "is that medical professionals, wherever they are, need to be prepared for a person speaking any language to show up for routine or emergency care. Language proficiency becomes intertwined with diagnostic, treatment and liability issues."
Medical Messaging.net provides a variety of telephonic services designed to enhance efficiencies and cost-effectiveness for its clients. These include Medical Answering Services, CourtesyCall, an automated appointment reminder system to simplify and improve appointment confirmations, and TestCall, designed to streamline the delivery of test results to Patients. CourtesyCall is a patient-friendly reminder system that has interactive features allowing the patient to confirm an appointment or indicate a need to reschedule. In a 24-month study, 200 providers reduced no-shows by 14 percent. TestCall reduces the time spent calling Patients with test results by as much as 50%, and increases Patient Satisfaction by providing easier, timelier access to test results.
CyraCom, based in Tucson, Ariz., received a national award for its health care technology from InfoWorld magazine in November and was named to the 2004 Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States.
