William Lipner and Patrick Healy Join InsightExpress
STAMFORD, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- April 18, 2005 -- InsightExpress, Inc(R), a leading professional online market research firm, announced today that William E. Lipner and Patrick G. Healy have joined the company as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman, respectively. Lipner and Healy recently held similar positions with NFO WorldGroup, the worldwide marketing research firm that is now part of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc. The appointments are effective immediately.
Lipner, 57, takes the helm of InsightExpress after a remarkable 30 year career at NFO WorldGroup. During his 22 year tenure as NFO's Chairman and CEO, NFO increased annual revenues from just $5 million to over $500 million. Lipner led a management buyout in 1991, took NFO public in 1993 (initially NASDAQ, later NYSE), and successfully sold NFO to The Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) in 2000. At the time of its sale to TNS in 2003, NFO was one of the top 5 custom marketing research firms in the world, with over 4,000 full-time employees and operations in over 40 countries. Concurrent with the sale, Lipner became Executive Vice-Chairman of TNS. He retired from that position in March 2004.
Lipner began his career with Honeywell Information Systems, where he held various marketing and sales positions from 1971 until 1974. There he was awarded the Honeywell Pacesetter award for Marketing for two consecutive years and was named "Marketing Man of the Year" Small Group Systems in 1974. Throughout his entire career, Lipner has built and directed top-level executive management teams with an intense focus on creating value and maintaining client intimacy resulting in long-tenured relationships with many of the most prestigious companies in the world.
Lipner holds degrees in Electronics Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Toledo. He is a member of Chief Executives Organization and is also an active member of the International Chapter of Young President's Organization (YPO). He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Eagle Hill School, which specializes in helping gifted children with learning disabilities get the most out of life. He also serves on the board of Crane Company (NYSE:CR), a diversified aerospace firm.
Healy, 49, joins InsightExpress as Vice-Chairman, where he will work closely with the InsightExpress team on the overall operations of the company with a particular emphasis on the company's financial, strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions and human resources functions. Healy spent 12 years with NFO, originally joining as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1993. During his tenure, NFO experienced explosive growth - expanding ten-fold in a 7 year period - and he assumed increasingly responsible positions during this period, including responsibility for NFO's considerable operations throughout Asia & the Middle East. At the time of the sale to TNS, Healy was NFO's Vice-Chairman and has served as TNS's Global Integration Director and Advisor until recently.
Healy, who is a CPA, originally began his career in 1977 at a then "Big 8" public accounting firm where he spent 6 years. He also served for 9 years as the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Interep (OTCBB: IREP), the nation's largest independent advertising sales and marketing company specializing in radio, the Internet and complementary media. Healy holds a B.B.A. degree from the Bernard M. Baruch College, where he graduated summa cum laude and is an active member of the Fairchester chapter of The Young President's Organization (YPO).
