500 Top Email Marketers Swap Ideas and Expertise at ExactTarget Global Conference; Five Customers Honored With ExactExcellence Awards


INDIANAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 28, 2005 -- Nearly 500 marketers representing many of the best-known companies and agencies in the world converged on Indianapolis for the 2nd annual ExactTarget Global Conference this week to learn the latest on such topics as email deliverability, targeting and segmentation, email effectiveness, personalization and other topics. Companies such as Little Tikes, Wild Birds Unlimited, General Mills and the Indianapolis Colts provided email best practices. The theme for the 2005 Global Conference is "It's a Jungle Out There: Survival of the Relevant" and featured keynote speaker Jack Hanna, host of the hit series, Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures.



ExactTarget previewed its product vision to help clients automatically manage increasingly complex marketing interactions. To head up this initiative, ExactTarget announced the addition of Scott McCorkle as vice president and general manager, marketing automation. Prior to joining ExactTarget, McCorkle was founder and chief executive officer of Mezzia, a company that develops enterprise software to manage how organizations plan for, budget and procure capital resources. McCorkle also has held senior level management positions with Corepoint Technologies, Software Artistry and IBM.

The day culminated with an awards dinner hosted by ExactTarget at the Indianapolis Zoo. There, ExactTarget awarded five organizations its annual ExactExcellence Awards for outstanding achievements in email marketing utilizing the ExactTarget solution.


The "Best Integrated Marketing Campaign" award went to WilliamsRandall Marketing, Indianapolis, for its work for client Watchfire by Time-O-Matic. WilliamsRandall designed an integrated email and print advertising program that generated sales opportunities projected to be worth $1.2 million in just seven weeks.

Rewards Network, Miami, received the "Best Overall Use of Latest Email Trends" award. A leading provider of dining and hotel rewards and credit card loyalty programs, Rewards Network worked with ExactTarget to develop a system to allow its customers to receive transactional based and geographically targeted email messages, generating some of the highest open and click through rates of all their mailings.

Siren Interactive, Oak Park, Ill., received the "Best Use of an eNewsletter for Customer Retention" award. Using the testing capabilities in ExactTarget, Siren eliminated many of the obstacles impacting deliverability of newsletters and improved measurability and data capture.

Herbalife International, Century City, Calif., was awarded the "Best Use of Email in an International Enterprise Environment." With ExactTarget, Herbalife implemented a multilingual, multi-character set of email processes to communicate with its worldwide distributor base; integrated an email profile system to capture all of the subscription opt-ins and opt-outs from their diverse distributors across multiple email categories; and consolidated 15-20 individual weekly emails into a single weekly newsletter to provide one-stop shopping for distributors.

Tiffanie Williams & Co., Quincy, Mass., was recognized with the "Best Application of ExactTarget for Small Business." The integrated marketing firm uses ExactTarget email as another tool to promote their clients, drive visibility and extend brand awareness.
