SPL moves strategic vision forward with the appointment of Roger Friedberger as Chief Financial OfficerLondon, September 25, 2005 – SPL WorldGroup, a leading provider of mission-critical software solutions for the global utility market, today announced the appointment of Roger Friedberger as chief financial officer. Friedberger comes to SPL with more than 30 years of experience as a senior financial executive, with strong international skills and experience in enterprise software. Larry Hagewood, SPL president & CEO, commented: “The appointment of Roger Friedberger brings added depth to SPL’s already top-notch senior management team. His proven talent for building and improving finance organisations, in addition to his significant hands-on experience with software revenue recognition, international taxation, cross-border mergers & acquisitions and more, will assist SPL tremendously in moving its strategic vision forward. Roger’s vast experience will be integral to SPL’s expansion and delivery of best-of-breed, utility-specific applications and integrated, end-to-end application suite to customers worldwide.” Friedberger’s background includes CFO positions of publicly traded and venture-backed multinational software companies. As CFO of ILOG (Nasdaq: ILOG), a leading provider of enterprise-class software components and services, he was responsible for the company’s global finance and legal operations. At Insignia Solutions (Nasdaq: INSG) and Micro Focus, he also held the CFO position. He has led the IPOs and/or international market listings for all three companies. Most recently, Friedberger was CFO at MailFrontier, an email security company. Friedberger said: “I’m delighted to be joining SPL at this very exciting time in the company.
