mPhase Technologies Approved for Membership in Internet TV Body; Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) Sets Standardization

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 23, 2005 -- As an indication of its commitment to open systems in interactive television services offered through telephone networks, mPhase Technologies (OTC: XDSL) today announced its acceptance into membership by the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS).

"We look forward to bringing our eight years' experience in television for telcos to the standards-setting process," said Ron Durando, CEO, mPhase Technologies. "We know how critical it is for telephone companies to choose open solutions like the new mPhase TV+ System, which is based on industry standard protocols." The standards-setting organization for the domestic telecommunications industry consists of the 350 leading carriers, service providers, manufacturers, software companies and related businesses.

Under an ATIS initiative to establish Internet Procotol TV (IPTV) standardization, the IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) has created a series of four task forces charged with removing obstacles that may impede the adoption of the technology. As an ATIS member, mPhase will be an active player in ensuring that interactive TV services will retain carrier grade quality and reliability as delivered by telecommunications service providers.

The company's flagship mPhase TV+ System is an open IP-based system that enables telephone companies to reap new revenues from their broadband networks with the addition of a pre-configured IPTV services platform, including video-on-demand that subscribers can order for an additional fee.
