Wrappe Leaves Triad Semiconductor, Now 'Chip-Less'

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 14, 2005 -- Dan Wrappe announced he is no longer with Triad Semiconductor, the supplier of mixed-signal integrated circuit chips that he co-founded in April of 2002.

"Creating a semiconductor company from scratch is hard work," said Wrappe. "I have been totally dedicated to Triad Semiconductor for more than three years during which we progressed from an idea to production. However, there needs to be a balance between work and life. The 'honey-do' list at home has been ignored too long and my daughter will soon transition from Disney to dating. I'm looking forward to a change."

Wrappe is a semiconductor industry veteran with 23 years of experience working in San Diego, Silicon Valley and Winston-Salem. He co-founded Triad Semiconductor in 2002 and recently announced production tooling of the MSSA-1 structured ASIC platform that uses the company's patent pending technology. The technology drastically reduces the cost and time to develop mixed-signal integrated circuit chips.

"The experience and specific knowledge gained during more than three years as president & CEO of an early stage semiconductor company can help other technology companies. Whether applied as an employee or a consultant, the lessons learned are invaluable," stated Wrappe. Upon departure from Triad, he established a consulting firm under the name of 'Chip-Less' to assist other early stage technology companies.

Wrappe also stated there are emerging clusters of innovative semiconductor and electronics development in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. He is very enthusiastic about medical, sensor, and wireless electronics companies in the region and is currently in discussion with a number of them.
