Nanotechnology in Sweden 2005-2006

There are a number of nanotechnology initiatives in Sweden, but they are not coordinated or part of one single programme. Nanotechnology was taken up relatively early in Sweden.
Over a decade ago, a research programme was initiated at the Analytical Chemistry Department of the Royal Institute of Technology that dealt with concepts related to the nanoscale. Similarly, nanostructure materials research has a long history. For example, the Nanometer-Structure Consortium at Lund University was set up in 1990.
