IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today introduced the IKON PrintCenterPro(TM) 1050, a 105 page per minute copy, print and image system, and announced that the multifunction system received Buyers Laboratory Inc.'s Pick of the Year award for Outstanding Segment Six Multifunctional Imaging Systems. The award-winning system offers industry-leading reliability, paper handling and finishing features at a competitive price. A versatile mid-production printing system with a rich feature set and exceptional image quality, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is designed to withstand the rigors of production print environments ranging from data centers and corporate reprographics departments to commercial printers and beyond.

"The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050, offering next-generation SRT fusing technology, sets a new standard in output quality for customers looking for a highly productive, reliable and cost-competitive system in the mid-production, segment six market," said Cathy L. Lewis, senior vice president of marketing for IKON. "The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 offers higher volume capacity, robust finishing capabilities and a lower cost than the closest competitor in the mid-production category, and is backed by IKON's proven team of production systems sales, support and service professionals with more than six years of experience implementing high volume systems for our customers."

Co-branded with Konica Minolta, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is designed to provide superior performance, quality and reliability supporting a wide range of production applications and environments. In addition to advancements in imaging, finishing and toner technology, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 offers:

-- Powerful production printing with 105 page per minute output and a monthly duty cycle of up to 1,500,000 pages

-- World-class image quality through the next generation of fusing technology, specifically designed for the production printing environment

-- Professional finishing with six folding options, multi-position stapling, cover insertion, hole punching, and saddle stitching of up to 50 sheets for 200-page booklets

-- Broad range of paper size and stock capabilities

-- 9,000 sheet input, 10,000 sheet output capacity for unattended operation

-- Air-assist paper feed technology in all paper trays ensuring reliable paper feeding over a wide range of media weights, sizes and finishes, including coated and heavy paper stock

The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050's many features and capabilities can be further enhanced with a variety of powerful PageScope software applications. The PageScope applications provide enhanced scanning and sending capabilities, network and enterprise management offerings and device management applications, making the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 a comprehensive production system capable of handling the needs of the toughest mid-production environments. In addition, IKON PowerPRESS(TM), a universal server that drives up to 12 devices, and IKON PowerPORT(TM), software that converts Xerox LCDS and IBM data streams into industry-standard PostScript data, are available to enhance the capabilities of the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050.

"Without a doubt, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is the most impressive segment six multifunction product ever tested by Buyers Laboratory," said Anthony Polifrone, managing director of Buyers Laboratory Inc. "The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 offers everything that's important to production environments, from exceptional reliability to unparalleled productivity and paper-handling features."

The system is ideally suited to excel in a range of production areas. In centralized reprographics departments, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 helps facilitate quick and reliable back-office printing and supports the trend toward merger with the data center, where the system is also well suited to handle high volumes of transactional printing. In the print-for-pay and commercial print environments, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 can facilitate quicker production at more affordable costs--driving improvements in turnaround time and margins.

"The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is a robust mid-level production copier/printer that strengthens IKON's competitive position in the monochrome market," said Charles A. Pesko Jr., managing director at InfoTrends/CAP Ventures. "The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 provides quality-conscious users with an economical solution for meeting the volume requirements of this growing market segment."

The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is the latest in a series of successful IKON private-label products and systems. In 2004, IKON partnered with Konica Minolta and EFI to launch the IKON CPP(TM) 8050--a 50 page per minute color system that received the 2004 Better Buys for Business award. In months, IKON became Konica Minolta's largest independent channel for that technology. Then in 2005, IKON introduced the IKON CPP 500, the successor to the IKON CPP 8050, and the IKON BusinessPro(TM) 500c, a color system designed to meet the demands of the office environment. Following the launch of these successful products, the introduction of the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 reinforces IKON's commitment to providing best-in-class technology and solutions for every document management need.

The IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 is available in the U.S. and Canada at a base retail price of $59,160, which includes the Adobe PostScript software.
