[October 02, 2005] KDS Developed New 2.5x2.0 Size, Ultra Miniature SMD TCXO; Samples Are Now Available for the DSA/DSB221SA Tweet TOKYO --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 2, 2005 -- Daishinku Corp. (President Sohei Hasegawa) has introduced a new 2520 size, ultra miniature SMD TCXO, which enables miniature designs for mobile communications. The DSA221SA (VC-TCXO) and DSB221SA (TCXO) are already developed and samples for these products are now available. KDS has developed many miniature size SMD Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators (TCXO) for use in mobile phones and other mobile communications. Two years ago, the Company developed DSA321S Series (VC-TCXO)/DSB321S Series (TCXO), which are 3.2x2.5 size products that are ideal for mobile communications. But today, KDS developed SMD TCXO that are even smaller and higher in function -- the DSA221SA (VC-TCXO)/DSB221SA (TCXO). The DSA221SA / DSB221SA are ideal for 3G (W-CDMA/CDMA2000, etc.) telecommunication applications that require smaller sizes. Thus, KDS plans to supply TCXO products to this growing market. The DSA221SA / DSB221SA are the smallest 2520 size products (dimensions: 2.5x2.0x0.8mm), with volume of 0.004cc (The volume is reduced by 45% in comparison with the 3225 size). For the development of these new TCXOs, we developed a new miniature IC to realize KDS' original technology of single package structure. These products can be manufactured with our conventional production facility, so there is an advantage in cost reduction and shortening of delivery time. -0- *T Characteristics 1.
