SS8 Networks' Dr. Cemal Dikmen to Address Interception of IP Multimedia and VoIP at ISS World Spring 2005

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- SS8 Networks, Inc., a leading provider of IP messaging systems, lawful intercept and signaling solutions for the telecommunications industry, announced today that Dr. Cemal Dikmen, vice president and general manager of lawful intercept at SS8 Networks, is scheduled to present at ISS World Spring 2005 on Monday, May 23, in Washington, D.C.
A frequent speaker at industry events and a recognized authority on lawful intercept, Dikmen's presentation titled "Interception of IP Multimedia and VoIP" will provide an overview of service providers' new interception challenges when implementing IP multimedia and VoIP. Dikmen is scheduled to speak at 10:15 a.m. He will also be a part of the Lawful Intercept Technology Roundtable at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24. The Roundtable will discuss the myths vs. realities of lawful interception of VoIP and other IP-based services, the readiness of operational standards developed, how the volume of data sent over broadband connections can be stored and processed efficiently, and how call-identifying information can be intercepted at Layer 2.
"It's a privilege to be able to address some of the important issues that have emerged as a result of the popularity of VoIP, especially at a prominent event such as ISS World," said Dikmen. "For service providers, standards bodies and vendors, IP multimedia and VoIP present a new set of challenges. These groups must bridge from legacy systems into next-generation networks that support feature-rich applications and meet the requirements of lawful intercept compliance such as CALEA."
Since 1995, Dikmen has been leading the design and development team at SS8 Networks, in charge of the IP-capable CALEA products. As vice president and general manager for lawful intercept solutions, he manages all aspects of the company's Xcipio(TM) platform, an open-architecture, real-time, highly secure, high-performance solution for converged communications.
The Intelligence Support Systems (ISS) World Conference and Expo addresses lawful interception issues and solutions from the perspective of telecommunications service providers, government policy makers, law enforcement agents, prosecutors and vendors.
