Xtend Networks to Show T1, 3GHz and Cellular Backhaul Solutions at Commercial Services Forum

ATLANTA, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Xtend Networks(TM), a Vyyo(R) company that provides advanced broadband solutions for the cable TV industry, will showcase the full suite of its solutions for the Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) market tomorrow, May 19 at the CTAM Commercial Services Forum in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Xtend will show its solutions for the delivery of symmetrical, voicegrade T1 (1.544 megabits per second) and 3 GHZ services over hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network architectures, as well as its turnkey T1 Cellular Backhaul solution, in the Technology Showcase at the event at the Sheraton Premiere in Vienna, VA.
Xtend's T1 solution currently is being trialed by cable operators in multiple markets. Xtend's solution for the delivery of 3 GHz of bandwidth over 860 MHz coaxial plant has already led to its becoming an approved vendor of Cox Communications.
"The commercial services sector continues to be an area of real growth potential for cable system operators," said Bill Keating, CEO of Xtend Networks. "We look forward to working with the industry to capitalize on the desire of the SMB market for advanced telecommunications services, and the needs of the wireless industry for a new source of backhaul capacity."
A proven solution tested and utilized by the world's largest cellular providers, the carrier class T1/E1 technology combines Xtend's XMTS(TM), a head-end modular system servicing up to 24 T1 links, and the company's V3xx family of T1 modems to provide a low jitter, low latency solution that utilizes existing infrastructure and Xtend's T1 Network Management System. The complete Xtend cellular backhaul value chain capitalizes on partnerships with providers of market data, equipment installation, and contracts with cellular carriers to deliver a complete turnkey solution.

Safe Harbor Statement
Statements made in this press release and at the show relating to the future, including those related to the potential for Xtend's systems to enable the cable industry to provide symmetrical voicegrade T1 services for commercial services and cellular backhaul and to economically enhance their networks, are forward-looking statements within the meaning of the "safe harbor" provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Because these forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, there are important factors that could cause our actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements. These factors include, without limitation, the current limited visibility available in the telecommunications and broadband access equipment markets; whether Xtend will be able to move from the development stage to deployment and establish commercial relationships with the cable system operators; whether cable system operators will successfully test and then deploy those Xtend solutions presently involved in trials; whether the cable industry will be willing and able to substantially increase the available bandwidth on their networks and do so using Xtend's alternative technology solution; and other risks set forth in Vyyo's annual report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2004, and in other periodic reports filed by Vyyo with the Securities and Exchange Commission from time to time. Vyyo assumes no duty to update these statements.
