PHILADELPHIA --(Business Wire)-- May 16, 2005 -- First of its kind, on-demand application addresses the needs of small to mid-size businesses and distributed workgroups for secure access, management and publishing of any type of document
DocExchange, Inc. today announced the release of a new on-demand document management service called the DocExchange. Designed specifically for the needs of small to mid-size businesses, or department-level workgroups of all types, the DocExchange allows organizations to effortlessly connect people and work processes with business-critical documents in a secure, web-based environment. The DocExchange is being introduced this week, May 17th to the 19th, to information management professionals at the AIIM On-Demand Conference & Exposition in Philadelphia.
According to Christine Mason, President and CEO of DocExchange, Inc., the service was designed to provide organizations the type of robust document management features that their clients desperately need in areas such as sales and channel management, marketing programs, regulatory/compliance functions or distributed project teams. "Now the benefits of large enterprise solutions are affordable to any size business through DocExchange," Mason said. "The DocExchange will deliver quicker time-to-market for our customer's products, better manage the life-cycle of mission-critical documents across their value chains and increase the productivity of our client's operational processes."
The DocExchange provides powerful benefits to its users in many ways without the need for IT involvement or expensive system integration. Whether a company is simply looking for better way to file, search and access their document, or needs both electronic publishing and traditional mail distribution, the DocExchange is available anytime a user connects to the Internet. Users can add any type of documents to DocExchange from a simple upload process or by scanning or faxing them in to a user's private repository. In addition, DocExchange can save considerable time for its users by providing powerful search capabilities. As documents are uploaded into a user's DocExchange account, they are instantly full-text indexed and searchable (even scanned documents or faxed images through a powerful Optical Character Recognition engine). Users can also apply additional keywords and meta-tags or use the indexing feature for to add more specific and structured data labeling. Lastly, once documents are uploaded and stored on DocExchange, a user may distribute or "publish" files to unlimited users either electronically through the users' or guests' account, or they may be distributed via email, fax or a highly versatile print-on-demand and mail service. The print-on-demand and mail service is a perfect complement for targeted sales and marketing promotions.
