AirMagnet Supports RSA's Security's Wireless Survey in San Francisco's Bustling Financial District

AirMagnet, the leader in wireless LAN (WLAN) security and performance solutions, today announced that its security monitoring tools will be used by RSA Security, an AirMagnet customer, to illustrate vulnerabilities in wireless networks in San Francisco's financial district. RSA Security recently completed an international survey of wireless networks in major business centers--New York, San Francisco, London and Frankfurt--and found that more than one third of wireless business networks in each surveyed city were unsecured. Small World Technologies, a leading network security provider, aided RSA in selecting and utilizing AirMagnet tools for its analysis.

RSA Security discovered that many businesses had not taken basic security precautions--more than 25 percent of access points in all cities still had default settings, making them vulnerable to hacking and various attacks. AirMagnet's products are used by more than 3,000 businesses to protect themselves from such exploits and attacks.
