Jobster, Inc. Launches New Service Designed to Reinvent Companies' Online Recruiting Efforts One Hire at a Time

SAN DIEGO, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Jobster, Inc. announced at the Electronic Recruiting Exchange Expo its entrance into the online recruiting marketplace with the launch of a web service that helps companies of all sizes reach beyond the most active candidates to hire busy professionals who desire a better career.

The Jobster(SM) service takes a fresh approach that extends beyond current solutions to help employers be more strategic in their hiring efforts targeted toward less active talent, commonly called "passive" candidates. Jobster empowers recruiters to conduct proactive hiring campaigns targeted to this hard to reach talent pool, gain qualified referrals and recommendations through trusted relationships, and better measure the effectiveness of their efforts. Jobster is designed with an open architecture that allows integration with existing recruiting services and systems.
More than 40 companies have been piloting Jobster to identify and hire great people -- including BearingPoint, Boston Scientific Corporation, The Coca Cola Company, Expedia, Harris Corporation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Nordstrom, Pfizer, SBC Communications, Starbucks Corporation and T-Mobile.
"We've always enjoyed a high employee referral rate, but we're looking to extend the reach of our referrals," said Norine Castle, Boston Scientific Staffing Services and Technology Manager. "We believe that Jobster can help us expand our network to uncover and connect with hidden talent."
Founded by former T-Mobile and AOL executive, Jason Goldberg, in partnership with recruiters from companies nationwide, Jobster helps reduce time spent on administrative tasks so recruiters can focus on what they do best -- finding great people.
"Through our collaboration with more than 100 of the industry's top recruiters, we uncovered a need for a better way to help them find less active candidates," said CEO Jason Goldberg. "Jobster provides a service that helps companies get the right job in front of the right person at the right time."
Last year, companies spent $1.5 billion in online recruitment advertising primarily focused on targeting the most active job seekers through job board postings. According to recruiting consultant firm Global Learning Resources, today less than 8 percent of recruiters name job boards as their most effective source of professional hires. Until now, companies have lacked an effective tool to reach beyond active candidates to target passive prospects.
An Easier Way to Reach Working Professionals
Jobster is different in its ability to provide recruiters with a simple way to proactively promote open positions. Key features and benefits include:
-- Promote Jobs With Customizable Jobster Campaigns. Companies can promote positions in ways that help them target highly qualified candidates who they never would have reached before. Companies of all sizes can extend their network by engaging hiring managers, employees and key external contacts to generate referrals, recommendations and inquiries from people they trust.
-- Leverage Time-saving Tools. Using Jobster's convenient web-based views, recruiters can act quickly on real-time notifications of new prospects and rank campaign results as well as search and prioritize prospects based on referrals.
-- Build Relationships and Keep in Touch. Recruiters can create and manage "Watchlists" to keep track of their most valued prospects in advance of open positions and keep tabs on active members of their referral network.
-- Work with Existing Systems. As part of its commitment to HRXML standards and integration with existing systems, Jobster will work to support integration with recruitment management systems. Jobster announced today a non-exclusive partnership with Hire.com, the worldwide leader in Talent Relationship Management solutions. Jobster and Hire.com will work to integrate their services to meet customer needs and cooperate in joint sales and marketing efforts.
Similar to job boards, pricing for Jobster is based on a transaction fee for each job published through the service. Various pricing plans are available offering volume discounts. Companies purchasing the service before May 20, 2005 are eligible for Jobster's Double Your Hires launch promotion where they will receive twice the number of transactions for the plan they choose at no extra charge.
