SAN DIEGO, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Jobster, Inc. announced at the Electronic Recruiting Exchange Expo its entrance into the online recruiting marketplace with the launch of a web service that helps companies of all sizes reach beyond the most active candidates to hire busy professionals who desire a better career.
The Jobster(SM) service takes a fresh approach that extends beyond current solutions to help employers be more strategic in their hiring efforts targeted toward less active talent, commonly called "passive" candidates. Jobster empowers recruiters to conduct proactive hiring campaigns targeted to this hard to reach talent pool, gain qualified referrals and recommendations through trusted relationships, and better measure the effectiveness of their efforts. Jobster is designed with an open architecture that allows integration with existing recruiting services and systems.
More than 40 companies have been piloting Jobster to identify and hire great people -- including BearingPoint, Boston Scientific Corporation, The Coca Cola Company, Expedia, Harris Corporation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Nordstrom, Pfizer, SBC Communications, Starbucks Corporation and T-Mobile.

Last year, companies spent $1.5 billion in online recruitment advertising primarily focused on targeting the most active job seekers through job board postings. According to recruiting consultant firm Global Learning Resources, today less than 8 percent of recruiters name job boards as their most effective source of professional hires. Until now, companies have lacked an effective tool to reach beyond active candidates to target passive prospects.

Similar to job boards, pricing for Jobster is based on a transaction fee for each job published through the service. Various pricing plans are available offering volume discounts. Companies purchasing the service before May 20, 2005 are eligible for Jobster's Double Your Hires launch promotion where they will receive twice the number of transactions for the plan they choose at no extra charge.
