North Carolina Technology Association to Host Press Conference at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29th at the N.C. Legislature to Announce the Defense Technology Innovation Plan

RALEIGH, N.C. --(Business Wire)-- March 28, 2005 -- The North Carolina Technology Association Inc. (NCTA), the primary voice of technology in North Carolina, along with N.C. Sen. Tony Rand will host a press conference on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 1328 of the Legislative Building.



NCTA will highlight a proposal and legislation that would authorize the Defense Technology Innovation Center (DTIC). The DTIC will bring together entrepreneurs from around the state with North Carolina's military community to find technology solutions that will aid in the war-fighter in the Global War on Terror.

NCTA members, representing the technologies industry, including; Cisco Systems, Sprint, Time Warner Cable, BellSouth, and Progress Energy; Cumberland County Business Council and members of the Cumberland County community; including Chancellor TJ Bryan of Fayetteville State University, Dr. Larry Norris from Fayetteville Technical Community College, Lt. Col. Oliver Wyrtki, the Commander of the 1112th Signal Battalion who also serves as the Director of Information Management at Fort Bragg, Lt. Col. Lisa Markgraf of Pope Air Force Base, and Scott Dorney of the Military Business Center will be on hand to discuss their involvement and answer questions.
