Volo Expands Local Access Points to Over 5,000, Blanketing the United States; VoiceOne Local Network Now Touches 90 Percent of U.S. Population
ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- March 16, 2005 -- Volo Communications, a leading nationwide wholesale provider of advanced voice and data services, announced today that it has doubled the number of its local access rate centers in the past 120 days to over 5,000, now touching approximately 90 percent of the U.S. population. This move brings the company close to its goal of providing ubiquitous local access points into its nationwide VoiceOne(TM) network.
"With more than 5,000 local access points to our nationwide MPLS network, we can now provide local Direct Inward Dialing (DID) origination phone numbers for approximately 90 percent of the U.S. population," Volo's Founder and CEO Shawn Lewis said. "We may just have the largest local access footprint in the country. Additionally, we have a fully automated system allowing for immediate assignment, and provisioning of DIDs, so our carrier and service provider customers can rapidly expand their local service offering without additional operational overhead," he added.
"This is great news for our carrier and service provider customers because they can now offer their customers greater access to advanced calling features and services using a high-quality of service network, rather than traversing the public Internet. And, carriers and service providers will also be able to expand their footprint by selling services across the country because there is now virtually local access into the VoiceOne network from anywhere in the U.S.," Lewis said.
"Volo's local market expansion will help us expand our local services offering immensely, considering we service many multi-location customers nationwide," Access Point's CEO Richard Brown said. "We selected Volo for local access because of their commitment to providing an expansive local footprint as well as their terrific realtime provisioning system. Volo lived up to their commitment, enabling us to expand our geographic marketing activities," he added.
Volo Communications uniquely provides operators its own advanced MPLS VoiceOne network and has been rapidly expanding its nationwide U.S. footprint for the past three years. Volo also owns its technologies, integrated applications, and billing and provisioning systems, which allows Volo's customers to sign on their customers quickly and easily, and provide a level of on-going support that is unmatched in the industry.
