Lagan, a Leader in 311 City Services and CRM Solutions for Local Government, Inks First U.S. Contract with the City of Hampton, Virginia

ROCKVILLE, Md. --(Business Wire)-- June 27, 2005 --

Agreement will streamline the city of Hampton's contact center to provide its 150,000 residents with enhanced city services

Lagan, a leading provider of 311 city services and CRM solutions for local governments, today announced a contract with the city of Hampton, Va. to provide improved city services to this beachside community of 146,000 constituents.

The city of Hampton,Va. will deploy Lagan's Frontlink software, a 311 solution designed to allow citizens to contact local government departments for non-emergency issues, such as failure of trash pickup, abandoned vehicles and power outages.

Established in 1610, the city of Hampton has the advantage of being midway between two Hampton Roads tourism meccas -- Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Although Hampton is a mature and established community, the city of Hampton is ahead of its time in deploying advanced technology solutions to improve service to its citizens.

"We were impressed with Lagan and what they had to offer to a city of our size," said John Eagle, CIO for the city of Hampton. "In Hampton, we strive to bring our citizens the best services available. Five years ago, we implemented one of the first centralized call centers in the nation. Lagan's Frontlink will allow us to convert our centralized call center into full service contact center that will streamline our approach to handling city services. Our citizens will be able to reach us in a variety of ways - whether by e-mail or phone or even in person - Lagan will provide us with the tools we need to give our citizens quality services."

As the 311 solution gains popularity with city and county government officials, Lagan has grown its U.S. sales force and is aggressively looking showcase it's innovative solutions with decision makers across the country. Providing more than just simplified citizen interaction with their local governments, a 311 line can alleviate non-emergency calls from an existing 911 line so that line will remain open for life-threatening events.

"We've all read about communities that have experienced the unthinkable - a city didn't respond in time to an emergency because their 911 line was tied up with non-emergency calls," said Tom Mazur, vice president of North American sales for Lagan. "With a 311 system in place, these unfortunate incidents could be prevented. The city of Hampton is one of many U.S. cities utilizing technology to connect with their citizens and increase the efficiency of city services."

Unlike other CRM systems on the market, Lagan's Frontlink separates itself from the competition with its flexibility. Frontlink's multi-platform composition enables it to be tailored to different environments or city departments such as police departments, town halls and human services offices, no matter what operating system is being used. Frontlink is a multi-lingual, multi-channel CRM system which enables customer-facing processes to be integrated seamlessly with a wide range of existing departmental systems.
