SUPERCOMM 2005 Turns the Spotlight on Global Infrastructure


ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2005--SUPERCOMM® 2005, the world's premier annual exhibition and conference for communications service providers and private network managers, opens next week bringing more than 600 exhibiting companies from around the world to Chicago's McCormick Place, June 6-9. SUPERCOMM attendees will have an opportunity to hear from the industry's leading executives and visit an array of specialty pavilions, hands-on interoperability demonstrations and exhibitor showcases all under one roof.



Opening SUPERCOMM 2005 with the keynote address, Ivan Seidenberg, Chairman & CEO, Verizon Communications will share his vision in a presentation titled "Future Proof: Creating a 21st Century Communications Industry." FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin will also be a featured keynote speaker, addressing the SUPERCOMM audience Tuesday, June 7 at 3:15 p.m. Other industry visionaries who will address attendees include John Chambers, President & CEO, Cisco Systems and F. Duane Ackerman, Chairman & CEO, BellSouth Corporation.

An additional highlight to SUPERCOMM programming is a debate "Who Wins Triple Play to the Consumer" scheduled for Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. The debate, produced by industry analyst firm Current Analysis, will feature top executives representing the leading providers of both cable and ILEC companies.


Exhibition Highlights

Organizers of SUPERCOMM, along with Telecommunications® Magazine, will feature the third annual "10 Hottest Technologies Pavilion." The Pavilion reflects the editors' annual selection of the product sectors and innovations that will have a significant impact on communications networks over the next year. SUPERCOMM attendees will have the opportunity to view specialized demos from participating exhibitors in the Pavilion, which will include the latest in:

Another feature on the SUPERCOMM exhibit floor, SUPERDemos will offer visitors the opportunity to view demonstrations of leading-edge technologies in action. Through this live collaboration, SUPERDemo participating companies will create a dynamic, interoperable infrastructure. Participants in the 2005 SUPERDemos include the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) and the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF).

International Focus - Exhibition and Programming Highlights

Attendees visiting the exhibit floor can expect to see countries including China, Taiwan, Korea, Italy, as well as the province of Ontario and more, represented in pavilions where companies from their regions will showcase the latest technologies and solutions.
