Meryl Evans Promoted to Vice President of Administrative & Information Services at Electro Rent Corporation

VAN NUYS, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- July 26, 2005 -- Daniel Greenberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Electro Rent Corporation (NASDAQ:ELRC), announced today the promotion of Meryl Evans to the new position of Vice President of Administrative & Information Services. Previously, Evans was Manager of Information Services at Electro Rent.



"Since she joined our company 22 years ago, Meryl has been instrumental in the development of Electro Rent's proprietary information systems, including inventory management, billing and related accounting functions. Her performance during the past couple of years as manager of our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance project was exemplary. Experienced and dedicated, Meryl is the right person to lead our information services group and to assume expanded administrative responsibilities over time. We welcome her to Electro Rent's senior management team," Greenberg said.

Evans was awarded an M.S. in Mathematics & Computer Science from Southwest Texas State University in 1980, and was a computer programmer for Tracor, Inc., Oil Technology Services, and the Alice Independent School District in Texas before joining Electro Rent in 1983.
