QoSmetrics Teams with TOYO Corporation to Be a Reseller of QoSmetrics Network Performance Assurance Products to Japanese Service Providers
CAMARILLO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- July 5, 2005 -- Agreement with TOYO Enables QoSmetrics Greater Penetration into Japanese Carrier, Service Provider Market While Giving TOYO a Broader, Stronger Network Testing Solutions Portfolio
QoSmetrics, a leading provider of network performance assurance hardware and software solutions, today announced an agreement with TOYO Corporation, a leading Japanese reseller and distributor of electronic measurement equipment. The agreement calls for TOYO to be a reseller of QoSmetrics' products to Japanese carriers and service providers. QoSmetrics products, deployed worldwide, provide network performance assurance for carriers, service providers and large enterprises delivering mission-critical services to customers and end users.
QoSmetrics' products deliver end-to-end network performance monitoring and diagnostic products for carrier, service provider and enterprises delivering triple play network services that involve voice, multimedia and data. QoSmetrics' products are used within any environment where such IP services are delivered. The company has a strong product offering especially attractive for triple play applications. Its triple play products enable Quality of Service (QoS) and other performance-based monitoring and diagnostics capabilities in Internet Protocol Versions 4 or 6 (IPv4/IPv6) environments, with pinpoint accuracy for quick root cause analysis and problem resolution. Ultimately, QoSmetrics' products allow large scale visibility of end-user-perceived quality for voice, video and data flows enabling providers to assure revenues generated from promised levels of service to customers and end users.
Combining TOYO's strong established presence in the Japanese market with the capabilities of QoSmetrics' products creates an avenue for network architects, network engineering, network operations and management staff members to turn to for unparalleled solutions in triple play quality monitoring for Japanese network service providers.
"Triple play service offerings represent a substantial revenue opportunity for Japanese service providers," commented Koichiro Fukumoto, President and CEO, TOYO Corporation. "To realize the full potential of triple play, service providers must take special care to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services or risk early customer, revenue and loyalty loss. Adding QoSmetrics' products, specifically designed for assuring triple play service delivery, to TOYO's offerings will prove to be a pleasant solution for Japanese network service providers seeking to build and strengthen triple play customer and revenue bases."
Gartner, a research firm, reported in May 2005 that triple play service offerings are here to stay, but cautioned that those providers who fail to gain early market share risk being locked out of the potential billion dollar market altogether. In fact, Gartner went on to say they "predict that operators who are successful in gaining customer loyalty by supplying multiple services are likely to cut alternative providers out of the customer relationship."
QoSmetrics' solutions are specifically designed to assure service providers the ability to deliver such services at every stage, from the core network to the end user equipment, to ultimately assure revenue from triple play service offerings. The company's products can help providers anticipate and understand user and network usage for identification of bottlenecks in servers, the core network (unicast/multicast), access network and even at the end user's home. QoSmetrics products can be fully integrated into existing networks from end to end, including the provider network; the network operations support network, the voice gateway and multicast/unicast IP network, down to the customer premise equipment. This includes seamless integration with existing Operation Support Systems (OSS) including, SOAP / XML interface-based OSS applications. In addition, all QoSmetrics solutions are based on strong standards from bodies such as ITU, IETF and ETSI. In addition, QoSmetrics recently unveiled V-Factor solution, which will be available in products through TOYO. V-Factor enables carriers and service providers to accurately and more deeply analyze the quality and performance of digitized MPEG streaming, and other video services in real time. V-Factor removes previous limitations of relying on assessments that only inferred quality. V-Factor is based on the Video Quality Expert Group (VQEG) Motion Picture Quality Metrics (MPQM) model. Because the VQEG's MPQM model is backed by years of research and development, QoSmetrics V-Factor can provide unparalleled video quality performance analysis. With Japan's consumers at the leading edge of new technology adoption the world over, QoSmetrics' products are ideal for Japan's leading service providers to assure the delivery of next generation services via their networks.
"TOYO is well known the world over for its ability to deliver cost-effective leading edge technology solutions to tackle issues facing service providers," said Yves Cognet, Chairman of QoSmetrics. "We're certainly looking forward to working with TOYO. Having TOYO as a reseller greatly helps us stimulate our presence with Japanese carriers and service providers."
QoSmetrics' solutions are based on three general products: NetWarrior is a scalable hardware probe deployable on a network. NetAgent is a software probe working in tandem with NetWarrior to proactively measure network artifacts that may cause problems, such as equipment problems, bottlenecks leading to latency, delay, jitter or out-of-order packets. Together, they provide pinpoint accuracy to identify the root of problems and allow for fast resolutions. Results are accessible via NetAdvisor, a web-based central reporting system that allows for custom user-defined reports on all findings. QoSmetrics' products are scalable to meet any sized network's needs. Products are available via TOYO immediately.
