TeleSym Announces Mobile VoIP Solution Support for Symbol MC50 Enterprise Digital Assistant

SEATTLE --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 17, 2005 -- Voice Solution Provides Telephone Capabilities For Real Time Response and Increased Customer Satisfaction

TeleSym, a leader in mobile enterprise voice solutions, today announced support for the Symbol MC50 enterprise digital assistant (EDA) with its SymPhone solution. The SymPhone solution allows employees to make and receive secure calls over a corporate wired/wireless LAN or via the Internet. Incorporating both patent pending call quality technology and RSA security features, SymPhone also extends the enterprise PBX to mobile workers and professionals.

"Symbol's MC50 is designed for mobile professionals seeking to capture, move and manage information at the point of business activity in order to increase productivity and efficiency, while improving customer responsiveness and satisfaction," said Doug Lloyd, director of mobile computing, Symbol Technologies. "With SymPhone's validated voice solution, the MC50 is an even more powerful and versatile tool enabling on-the-spot decision making with real time access to people and information in a mobile computer -- especially when combined with an organization's data applications."

Introduced in October 2004, the MC50 is the first in a new family of EDA products specifically designed for business-essential applications within the enterprise environment with a particular focus on durability and lifecycle management. Featuring industry-standard-based and Symbol wireless security capabilities, the MC50 also includes integrated voice capability with a designed-for-voice electrical and mechanical design. With the MC50, Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions can be deployed enabling in-building and on-campus communications for real-time responses and improved customer satisfaction.

"Symbol has staked a strong leadership claim with the introduction of the MC50," said Paul Zoba, Vice-President of Business Development with TeleSym. "This enterprise digital assistant is a unique solution that combines several key technologies to create a powerful platform for VoIP for executives and mobile workers. TeleSym is very excited to announce that we have validated our solution, as we expect the MC50 to be very successful with enterprises across many industries and various mobile applications."
