TrenStar Joins AIM Global
CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 12, 2005 -- TrenStar Inc. announced today at the ProMat trade show that it joined AIM Global, the association for Automatic Identification and Mobility that for more than 30 years has advocated auto ID and mobility solutions through industry standards development and the support of a global channel network.
As a member company offering mobile asset management solutions enabled by the latest auto ID technology, TrenStar will contribute to AIM's outreach efforts to increase understanding and adoption of auto ID technologies including radio frequency identification (RFID) through education, standards and cooperation with other leading industry associations.
TrenStar offers one complete outsourced solution to customers including Carlsberg UK Ltd. and Kraft Foods Inc. that combines mobile asset acquisition, tracking technology including RFID and asset management services. Examples of mobile assets include beer kegs, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) used in the food and beverage or chemical industries and unit load devices (ULDs) used in the air cargo industry.
Senior vice president and general manager of EMEA at TrenStar, Stuart Facey, said that supporting the maturation and acceptance of auto ID has been integral to the strategy of the TrenStar family of companies for many years. TrenStar UK (then known as KTP Ltd.) was a founding member of AIM UK in 1984 and of AIM Europe in 1985. In 1998 TrenStar UK formed a strategic research and development division to focus solely on RFID technology. The company recruited RFID experts and conducted intensive RFID training for its engineers and business analysts. TrenStar's former senior vice president of consulting, Harry Clark, received AIM's Richard R. Dilling Award in September 2002.
David Adams, senior vice president of corporate strategy at TrenStar, said: "We offer the latest in auto ID to customers as part of a comprehensive solution that supports our formation and management of neutral industry asset pools. Without the technology, we could not realize our pooling vision. In true partnership with AIM Global, we will work to advocate auto ID and support standards that will make our solution more effective and improve our level of customer service as a result."
"We applaud TrenStar's commitment to partnering with us in the development of standards and educational materials for Automatic Identification and Mobility technologies. Its participation in AIM Global is a strong indication of its support of our technologies to ultimately help companies in multiple industries become more competitive while saving time and money," said Dan Mullen, president of AIM Global.
