International Committee of the Red Cross Selects Hyperion Business Intelligence Platform to Improve Its Performance Management

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 10, 2005 -- Hyperion Provides the ICRC with Performance Indicators and a Comprehensive Financial and Operational Reporting Solution for Better Control of Financial Risks

Hyperion (Nasdaq:HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management software, announced today that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has selected Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Analyzer to manage and report both financial and operational data, based on key performance indicators.

Hyperion's Business Intelligence Platform will provide the ICRC with improved visibility on the management of its business activities. By integrating operational performance indicators into its financial reporting, the ICRC will be able to track donations and analyze how they are used as well as identify gaps between the organization's budget and expenses. The new solution will allow the ICRC to undertake appropriate corrective actions and guarantee the monitoring and management of its financial risks.

"We chose Hyperion because of its strong product integration," said Nicola Busino, one of the two deputies to the ICRC's financial director. "We were looking for a robust and efficient business intelligence platform. Hyperion's software offering was reliable and flexible. From a user perspective, the integration between Hyperion Essbase and Excel and the ease of use of Analyzer were also two decisive factors."

The platform was recently implemented at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva. Hyperion's solution will be progressively deployed to other areas of the organization, including executive management, heads of departments and business units. The full scope of the project is expected to encompass 150 to 200 employees at the ICRC headquarters, which represents about 30 percent of its employees.
