IPeria's ActivEdge Messaging Solution Chosen for Lightyear's Rollout of its XSTREAM Voice over IP -- VoIP -- Services
BURLINGTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 3, 2005 --
Nationwide rollout of new XSTREAM(TM) Service planned for 171 markets
IPeria, Inc., the emerging leader in messaging and communications software for VoIP, today announced that Lightyear Network Solutions, LLC a competitive local exchange carrier with more than $100 million in annual revenues, has chosen IPeria's ActivEdge voicemail and unified messaging solution for use in its XSTREAM Services. Lightyear's XSTREAM will be rolled out in 171 markets though out the United States and will provide advanced messaging and telephone calling features in one powerful and easy to use service. Lightyear has the ability to quickly ramp up its sales of the new service by using its over 8,500 Lightyear Alliance Representatives nationwide.
IPeria's ActivEdge carrier-class software provides network service providers with a scalable and high performance solution for enhanced services such as telephone and internet based voicemail, automated telephone operator (auto-attendant), fax, and unified messaging with advanced notification capabilities.
ActivEdge voicemail allows subscribers to access voicemail messages through any telephone, e-mail client, or over the internet using a web portal. IPeria's voicemail provides advanced notification capabilities to allow subscribers to be notified of a new message on their mobile telephone, by sending an e-mail with the message attached, by providing stutter dial tone, or by lighting the message waiting light on telephones.
One of the major benefits of ActivEdge software is that it runs on industry standard off the shelf servers and media servers. IPeria's solution allows service providers to select best-of-breed hardware components which does not lock service providers into proprietary hardware solutions.
"We selected IPeria's ActivEdge for our nationwide rollout because of it's advanced features, open and standards based architecture, and its integration and interoperability with our other voice over IP vendors like Sylantro Systems, said Bruce Widener, senior vice president of corporate development for Lightyear Network Solutions. "By partnering with IPeria and companies like Sylantro, we are able to quickly introduce unique, easy to use, and fully integrated VoIP telephone calling and messaging services for our residential and business subscribers."
IPeria's ActivEdge Software provides service providers with the ability to add additional services such as unified messaging, auto attendant, fax, and audio conferencing as their subscribers require new and integrated messaging and communications services
"IPeria is proud to be part of Lightyear's nationwide rollout of XSTREAM services for residential and business users," said Jonathon Ross, IPeria's President. "Lightyear's VoIP network architecture will allow them to offer unique and innovative services to residential and business subscribers nationwide. "
