Non-Gamers and Casual Gamers Continue to Be the Key to Success in the Mobile Games Market, According to Development Studio, Mr Goodliving.

HELSINKI, Finland --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 3, 2005 -- The company, which saw it's mobile version of quiz game Trivial Pursuit reach number two in the official UK mobile games chart in November 2004*, has seen downloads soar for games which are not aimed at the traditional 'console' gamer.

"The mobile games market has often been treated as simply another games platform," says Juha Ruskola, the managing director of Mr Goodliving. "However all of the evidence we have seen is that this is not the case and simply recreating established videogame genres is not bringing new players into the market."

Mr Goodliving has established a reputation within the mobile sector as an original and high quality developer which has created a number of successful titles, including the best-selling Playman sports series. Trivial Pursuit: Mobile Edition was the company's first licensed title and according to Ruskola, the decision to develop a branded game was carefully considered:

"The mobile games sector has seen hundreds, if not thousands of licensed games released in the past 18 months and a great many of them have been poorly considered, low quality and not much fun," says Ruskola. "Trivial Pursuit has a universal appeal, far outside the videogames sector, it's simple, accessible and works extremely well on even the most limited mobile phone handsets. We were delighted to be able to bring it to a new audience and with the game's performance to date."

Accessibility of games is also a key factor. Mr Goodliving supports over 120 different mobile phone handsets and more than twenty languages, to ensure that the game can be played and enjoyed by the widest possible audience. The game is available from all of the leading mobile network operators and retail channels throughout Europe.

"There are hundreds of millions of phone owners who are potential games players," concludes Ruskola. "If they cannot play the game on their handset or find it in their local language, then they are not going to be playing your game. It's a global market and it has to be treated as such."

Mr Goodliving are planning to release a number of special editions of Trivial Pursuit: Mobile Edition. The first of these, Trivial Pursuit: Football Edition was released in January and can be found on all major mobile carriers. Further games will be released throughout 2005.
