Leap Appoints Dave Truzinski as Vice President and Chief Information Officer; Industry Veteran Brings More Than Two Decades of High-Tech & Wireless IT Experience to Leap


SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 24, 2005 -- Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services, today announced that it has appointed Dave Truzinski as vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Truzinski will be responsible for Leap's information technology support such as computer operations, telecommunications, networking, messaging, security, systems architecture and database management.

For nearly four years, Truzinski was with Cingular Wireless/AT&T Wireless serving as the CIO and vice president international, IT and director of international IT, respectively. While at Cingular Wireless/AT&T Wireless, he was responsible for IT leadership and oversight of international IT operations in North America, including Canada and the Caribbean, as well as Taiwan. Truzinski led the IT organization that was responsible for the launch of AT&T Wireless' operations in the Caribbean, which built and operated wireless companies in 10 countries throughout the Caribbean in less than three years.


Before joining Cingular Wireless/AT&T Wireless, Truzinski served as chief technology officer (CTO) for ClickCollect, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of technology, strategy and execution. While at ClickCollect, he managed a start-up business, including company organization, marketing, sales and finance, and actively participated on the company's board. Prior to that, he was CIO and vice president of technology for InsuranceNow.com, an INDC Group company. As CIO, he assisted with the development of the business strategy to launch a 'born on the net' property and casualty insurance company.

For 10 years, Truzinski held several roles with AT&T Wireless Services/McCaw Communications including national director of technical architecture, a role in which he developed a national team responsible for setting the technology standards and strategy for AT&T Wireless. Prior roles included a number of senior IT leadership positions that served the Western Region within AT&T Wireless/McCaw Communications.

Truzinski earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management information systems from California State University, Sacramento.
