Infravio Extends UDDI Features in Governance Focused SOA Registry; New Infravio X-registry Optimized to Meet Design Time and Governance Demands of SOA Build-outs
LOS ANGELES & CUPERTINO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- April 18, 2005 -- Infravio, Inc., a leading provider of SOA Web Services Management products, today announced extended UDDI features in the new release of its business focused SOA registry, Infravio X-registry(TM). The move improves interoperability with the standard for Web Services registries with SOA governance, Web Service Delivery Contracts(TM) and functionality that reflects Infravio's tremendous depth of customer experience with real-world business requirements for Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Infravio is demonstrating Infravio X-registry at the Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Summit in Los Angeles, California from April 18-20.
"Infravio has a long history of customer-focused Web Services implementations, many of which have strong business requirements for SOA Governance," said Ronald Schmelzer, senior analyst at ZapThink, LLC. "By extending its support for UDDI, Infravio adds interoperability and standards support to its business-focused registry, adding to its capabilities for Web Service Delivery Contracts that meet the needs of real-world business applications."
With growing numbers of organizations implementing strategic SOA initiatives, Infravio has optimized the new version of X-registry to meet the design-time and governance demands of SOA Web Services build-outs. Demonstrating its commitment to standards, Infravio X-registry now offers expanded UDDI support to further improve SOA Web Services design and governance. By incorporating X-registry into SOA design, enterprises reap the promised SOA advantages of reuse, agility and policy management.
Added Miko Matsumura, Infravio's vice president of marketing, "The days of ad hoc Web Services enablement are coming to a close. X-registry prepares organizations for the era of intentional SOA, where metadata about services, users and contracts are a make-or-break issue for real-world SOA deployments."
The new Infravio X-registry benefits from Infravio's investment of over 100 man years in SOA Web Services solutions and its involvement with some of the largest and most sophisticated SOA build-outs in the industry. As a result, X-registry directly addresses business, technology, security, governance, and other enterprise-wide design-time issues raised by SOA.
Infravio X-registry addresses the needs of all business and IT players in an SOA -- from publishing, documenting and cataloging services for providers to browsing, searching and requesting authorization for use by consumers. Infravio X-registry provides the controls, approvals, and tracking functions needed to fully govern the Web Services and SOA assets. It also generates an expanded view of the scope, roles, and necessary information to sustain and manage them.
Infravio X-registry helps organizations just starting on the SOA path, as well as those pushing the SOA envelope. For example, companies with numerous value chain dependencies will find that Infravio X-registry enables the SOA design needed to effectively expose backend infrastructure applications to affiliates, partners, and resellers. By incorporating service users, providers and their relationships in the metadata model for Web Service Delivery Contracts, Infravio provides rich business functionality through a powerful configuration interface.
