TVDating.com Domain Name on the Bidding Block; URL ``Perfect Name for Reality Dating Show'' Now for Sale

SAN MATEO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- April 14, 2005 -- Sale Timed to Coincide with National Association of Broadcasters Show as Silicon Valley Serial Entrepreneur Believes Bids May Top $1 Million

In a move reminiscent of the late 1990s, a Silicon Valley-based serial entrepreneur announced today he is putting the TVDating.com domain name up for sale in an effort he believes could generate offers of more than $1 million.

Victor Hanna, a veteran of a number of successful Silicon Valley based startups, registered the TVDating.com domain name in early 1999.

"The collision of reality programming and dating shows was just getting going (in early 1999)," Hanna explained. "The convergence was inevitable, but I knew it was still a few years away." Finding the domain name available, he registered it through a separate company he owns, BBCI, Inc.

"After spending more than 15 years in the technology world and the crazy expansion of the DotCom years, I was pretty confident we were nearing the apex of the first Internet wave in 1999," he explained. "So I decided to wait out the necessary time, until the URL had fully ripened."

Some six years later, Hanna is confident that his wait may be ready to bear fruit.

"There are a number of dynamics that suggest that reality programming is not going to go away any time soon, and near the top of anyone's reality programming lists are reality dating programs," Hanna said. "I know that TVDating.com is the perfect name for a reality dating show, but it could also be a great fit for an online company. For the right entrepreneur, producer, visionary or network -- such as a Richard Branson, a Mark Burnett, a Mark Cuban or a Fox Network -- TVDating.com will be a perfect fit."

Although Hanna believes the TVDating.com name is perfect for a reality dating show, he also realizes that the name may have just as much (if not greater) usefulness as an Internet-branded company.

Hanna's decision to put the TVDating.com domain name up for sale follows recent industry developments, such as a the nationwide rollout of a cable television dating service called "Dating on Demand" launched in February by cable company Comcast in concert with HurryUpDate.com.

With the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show kicking off in Las Vegas, the timing of accepting bids on the domain could be very opportune, as 95,000 industry executives from 130 countries converge to evaluate industry trends, and opportunities.
