Modulant Expands Executive Team; Company Taps Industry Veterans in Preparation for Product Launch in Q404
CHARLESTON, S.C. --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 28, 2004 -- Modulant, developer of a complete enterprise software platform for revitalizing legacy data, today announced two new additions to its executive team. Mr. Bill Baloglu was named president and Mr. Daniel Christie was appointed chief financial officer. The new members of the team will play key roles in the company's growth, business development, marketing initiatives and financial management.

In his role as president, Mr. Baloglu will hold overall responsibility for driving Modulant's Contextia Enterprise Software Division. Mr. Baloglu's track record spans over 22 years in management, marketing, sales and technology with high growth software companies. Mr. Baloglu was part of Versant's founding leadership, a pioneering data management software vendor. He held responsibilities in the company's marketing, professional services and international sales operations at various times during his tenure. Versant successfully completed its initial public offering in the early nineties. Mr. Baloglu was co-founder and COO of OpenObjects, a pioneering vendor of software productivity tools. Mr. Baloglu was pivotal to the US launch and market penetration of OST Look!, a dynamic software visualization platform, later acquired by Wind River Systems. Most recently, Mr. Baloglu was the founder and CEO of ObjectFocus, a leading enterprise software consulting and staffing firm, registering 200% annual growth under his leadership. Earlier in his career, Mr. Baloglu held technical leadership and management roles at Computervision (now PTC). Mr. Baloglu also provided strategic consulting services to several leading technology companies, such as Sun Microsystems, KLA-Tencor, Taligent and Rogue Wave Software.
Mr. Christie brings over 20 years of financial management experience to his new post with Modulant, including executive level positions with a range of high growth, pre-IPO and publicly held technology companies. Mr. Christie was chief financial officer for Datastream Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:DSTM), a developer of client-server enterprise computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), where he was instrumental in raising venture capital, preparing the company for its IPO and in the company's acquisition of several domestic and international competitors. Mr. Christie was the co-founder and CFO of KnowledgeSentry, Inc., which pioneered the concept of Remote Endpoint Security for mobile computers, devices and appliances. He later negotiated the sale of KnowledgeSentry to a major market player. Previously, he was the CFO for HomePoint Corporation, a leading B2B supply-chain vendor, where he was pivotal to securing over $72M in venture funding. He also held senior level positions, spanning over nine years with Digital Equipment Corporation during its high growth period. Most recently, Mr. Christie served as the North American controller for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Division for SANMINA-SCI (Nasdaq:SANM), a leading provider of global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
