Healthaxis and ppoONE Formally Announce Expanded Relationship to Provide PPO Network Repricing Solutions for Health Insurance Payor Market

DALLAS --(Business Wire)-- Sept. 7, 2004 -- A formal announcement was made today expanding the relationship between Healthaxis (Nasdaq:HAXS), a national leader in business process outsourcing services, and ppoONE, a nationally recognized ASP provider of an internet repricing application. The relationship will provide an electronic link between Healthaxis and its payor clients for claims repricing functions for certain PPO networks in the market. Healthaxis, which processes millions of claims annually for its customers, will provide this capability as part of its expanding presence in the healthcare business process outsourcing and repricing services space.

"We currently reprice claims for several of our customers through a direct connection to ppoONE, but this announcement comes as a result of our expanded role in this market as an End-to-End solution for our payor BPO clients," said Jamie McLane, Chairman and CEO of Healthaxis. "We see this relationship as an integral part of providing connectivity to more nationally recognized PPO networks, which give our customers more repricing and network options. ppoONE is a well recognized and respected ASP repricing entity and we are proud of our relationship with this company."

Healthaxis provides a complete suite of services to its customers including mailroom outsourcing, paper claim conversion to EDI through scanning, imaging and OCR processing, clearinghouse functions, EDI claims routing to PPO networks for repricing, along with its current ability to support fee schedules internally on a proprietary claims repricing system.

ppoONE President Joe Hensley stated, "Our core business model centers around automated claims repricing and facilitating electronic transactions on behalf of our PPO and payor clients. We are delighted to work with Healthaxis using this relationship as a viable channel for new claim transactions and a natural conduit to compliment our services in the marketplace." ppoONE Vice President of Sales and Account Management, Diane Rodgers added, "Building a relationship with Healthaxis allows ppoONE to propose an electronic turnkey solution in routing claim transactions from and to existing and prospective clients for repricing."
