Cadence Seeks Silicon Valley Beneficiary for 2005 Stars & Strikes Fundraiser SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Oct. 4, 2004 -- Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN)(Nasdaq:CDN) is seeking a Silicon Valley non-profit organization to be the beneficiary of its 2005 Stars & Strikes(R) Fundraiser. Deadline for proposals is Oct. 29.Underwritten by Cadence, the fundraiser brings together local companies and celebrities in a bowling competition that raises funds for Silicon Valley charities. This year's event in April raised over $800,000 for the Children's Discovery Museum and community outreach efforts of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation. Since its inception in 1990, Stars & Strikes has raised more than $5.8 million. The 49ers Foundation will once again partner with Cadence for the upcoming event in May 2005. Players and other 49ers personnel donate their time to bowl with sponsor teams and provide memorabilia for auction. Programs or projects that will be considered for funding are those that improve or increase the organization's ability to provide services and have lasting impact on those served, as well as on the community. Since the amount raised can exceed $500,000, Cadence looks for lead or capstone contribution opportunities. Leveraged or matched funding resulting from the Stars and Strikes contribution is highly desirable. Past beneficiaries include InnVision, Resource Area for Teachers, and The Bill Wilson Center. Proposals from non-profit organizations will be accepted through Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. Requests for proposal guidelines should be addressed to Kathy Wheeler at [email protected] or mailed to her attention at Cadence Design Systems, Inc., 2655 Seely Drive, Building 5, San Jose, CA 95134.
