Former Senior Executive From Texas Instruments and Burr-Brown Joins TelASIC Board

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- TelASIC Communications, an analog and mixed-signal IC company delivering the world's highest performance analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC), as well as digital chipsets for wireless infrastructure technologies including WCDMA, cdma2000, GSM, and WiMax, today announced the addition of industry veteran Syrus Madavi to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Madavi brings unmatched executive-level experience in analog, mixed- signal, and communications semiconductor technologies to TelASIC, most recently as president and chief operating officer at JDS Uniphase. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of the high-performance analog business at Texas Instruments, where he managed more than $1 billion of profit and loss serving several markets, including fiber optics and wireless communications. Previously, he was chairman, president and CEO of Burr-Brown, a provider of high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs. Under Mr. Madavi's leadership, Burr-Brown's valuation increased from just $100 million to more than $7 billion when it was acquired by Texas Instruments in 2000.
"TelASIC has assembled some of the strongest analog and mixed-signal engineering talent, intellectual property, and products that I have come across," commented Mr. Madavi. "With the acceleration of 3G wireless CAPEX spending, and the increase in acceptance for high data rate standards such as CDMA2000, WCDMA, EV-DV, and WiMAX, I believe TelASIC is very well positioned. I look forward to helping them take their unique potential and build a highly successful corporation."
"We are very pleased to have Syrus Madavi join our board. He is one of only a handful of people in the world with this level of experience in growing and managing high performance mixed-signal semiconductor and communications systems companies," said PK Dubey, TelASIC's CEO. "As we transition from product development to delivery of our products to tier one customers worldwide, we look forward to Syrus' contributions in helping us capitalize on these significant market opportunities."
